Samango Eco-Estate is more than just a secure estate, however. It is a safe haven for native fauna and flora that are being safeguarded for future generations thanks to the passionate stewardship of the team behind this Lowveld nature reserve.
The entire wildlife estate has been game fenced to ensure the safety of wildlife species. This includes everything from kudu, impala, zebra and giraffe, to eland, wildebeest, reedbuck and duiker. St Paul’s is also home to thriving communities of baboon, Samango monkey, porcupine, side-striped jackal, genet, caracal and serval.
Additionally, enthusiastic birders will be happy to learn that the residential wildlife estate is rich in birdlife. Due to the diversity of vegetation within the reaches of Samango Eco-Estate, the lists of woodland, savannah and bushveld birds are endless. As such, the estate’s avian residents include everything from Crowned Eagles and Jackal Buzzards, to Long Crested Eagles and a variety of lesser-spotted raptors. Not to mention the magnificent Narina Trogon, Cape Batis, Chorister, and Natal Robins that are sighted almost daily in and around the on-site forests.
At Samango Eco-Estate, it is our aim to promote the wellbeing on our resident fauna and flora to the very best of our ability. In this way, we not only safeguard a scenic Lowveld real estate environment, we also ensure that the endemic South African creatures in our care are protected against unscrupulous development and poaching.
